It was 1973, the first day that I wandered into a little shop in Burlington, MA. It was small, jam packed with exotic clothes, trinkets, accessories and incense. The smokey fragrance wafting through the air made me feel as if I had just stepped onto a wharf in the orient and I was forever hooked. We were young, with long flowing hair, donning bell bottomed jeans, huarache sandals and prairie tops, and we felt as if we had just stepped into hippie heaven. That shop defined my aesthetic throughout my high school years and I only wish I still owned some of the amazing finds I scored in that mysterious oasis. To this day, whenever I catch a whiff of Nag Champa, I am transported to that little shop, and I am forever a flower child.
